SPINNING CLASSES

SPINNING, OR CYCLE CLASSES, WERE CREATED BY WORLD-CLASS CYCLIST "JOHNNY G." GOLDBERG AS A CONVENIENT AND QUICK WAY TO TRAIN FOR RACES.  IN 1989, HE AND JOHN BAUDHUN OPENED THE FIRST SPINNING CENTER IN SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA AND THEN DEVELOPED A PROGRAM TO CERTIFY OTHER SPINNING INSTRUCTORS.  CYCLE CLASSES ARE AN EFFICIENT WAY TO BURN SERIOUS CALORIES WHILE TONING QUADRICEPS AND OUTER THIGH AND GLUE MUSCLES. BECAUSE YOU SAY IN ONE PLACE WITH THE SAME BASIC MOVEMENT THROUGHOUT, SPINNING DOESN'T INVOLVE A LOT OF COORDINATION; IT'S EASIER TO CONCENTRATE ON YOUR FORM THAT IN OTHER TYPES OF AEROBIC CLASSES.  YOU CAN FINISH A SPIN CLASS, REGARDLESS OF YOUR FITNESS LEVEL, SIMPLY BY ADJUSTING YOUR PACE OR THE TENSION KNOB ON THE BIKE.

ALL RIVER OAKS CYCLES INSTRUCTORS ARE SPINNING AND CPR CERTIFIED.

THE RIDE:     THIS CLASS IS IDEAL FOR BIKERS THAT PREFER AN ENDURANCE RIDE.  PARTICIPANTS WILL CLIMB HILLS AND RIDE SPRINTS IN KEEPING WITH A CONSTANT CADENCE.

INTERVAL CLASS:   THIS CLASS IS IDEAL FOR THOSE PARTICIPANTS WHO HAVE TAKEN SPIN BEFORE AND WOULD LIKE A CHALLENGING AND MOTIVATING 45 MINUTE WORKOUT.

LUNCH SPIN:   THIS CLASS IS DESIGNED TO GET THE MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK.  GET IN, GET OUT AND BACK TO WORK IN UNDER AN HOUR.

REG SPIN:   THIS CLASS CONSISTS OF THE BASIC WARM-UP, INTENSE CARDIO THEN COOL DOWN WORKOUT.  DESIGNED FOR PARTICIPANTS OF ALL AGES AND ENDURANCE LEVELS.

 

MEMBERS:           $5.00 per class or a package for $50.00 (10 visits plus one free!)
 
NONMEMBERS:    $8.00 per class or a package for $80.00 (10 visits + one free!)
