Jack's roots go back to Simsbury, CT where he graduated from
Simsbury High in 1958 and Central Connecticut State in 1963.
While in college, he developed a passion for tennis played on the
Varsity for three years along with competing in New England
Tournaments.
Prior to becoming the Head Tennis Professional at River Oaks
(1974-1999) Jack taught tennis at The Shuttle Meadow Country Club in
New Britain, CT, Westside Tennis Club in Westlake, OH and The North
Ridge Racquet Club in North Ridgeville, OH.
In 1998 he brought Todd Ashdown to
River Oaks with plans for Todd to take the Head Professional
position. Jack
is presently the Tennis Advisor on the River Oaks team and also runs
the tennis program at The Westwood Country Club in Rocky River, OH.
He especially enjoys observing his former students compete on their
respective USTA teams. Jack says, "My Senior Team, which went
to the 4.5 Nationals in 1995, reinforces the competitive edge we all
need to keep our game sharp."
Jack is a USPTA Professional 1 and a
Wilson Advisory member.
Jack has three children and one
adorable granddaughter. He presently lives in Bay Village with
his wife, Marilyn, and their English Setter, James. |
